Based on bookings made over the first half of the year, Tokyo being at the top of the list attests to its vast amount of attractions and activities that are must-dos for travellers, holidaymakers and those looking to add priceless experiences to their bucket lists. From foodies to fashionistas, Tokyo has a lot to offer visitors and denizens alike, and it’s quite nearly impossible to do everything in one trip, even for those staying for months in the city.

So what does one do in Tokyo when they have been a few times already but want to dig into more? Here are some suggestions:-

  • Visit the Museum of Narratives (MoN) which just opened on 28 March 2026. What’s to see here? The exhibition spaces will, of course, feature curated exhibitions as and when (do check their website for info), but visitors are also welcome to explore their public spaces. This includes the impressive (and totally Instagramable) MoN Library, the Train Terrace that overlooks trains passing by and the “Rolling Stock Depot”, the Tsuki Terrace that was designed to reflect the moon and observe seasonal events such as the Cherry Tree Blossoming, the MoN Farm on the rooftop, and the adjacent Hanami Terrace, where seven types of cherry blossoms bloom at different seasons. There is also a rooftop terrace with a foot bath (ashiyu) overlooking Shinkansen train tracks.
  • Dine at Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu (if you haven’t, that is. We understand that Tokyo insiders may already be familiar with it). They serve a variety of Japanese cuisine in a setting that resembles a super-maxxed traditiona Japanese diner. Muslim diners may ask for the Halal course.
  • Search for that perfect anime, manga or game figurine at Animate Ikebukuro with 11 floors of merchandise and accessories that complement your ACG lifestyle.
  • Enjoy a day of fun at Yomiuriland, a classic theme park with roller coasters, vertical liftoffs, kiddie rides and a water park that operates in the summer. Pokemon enthusiasts might want to go there simply to enjoy PokéPark Kanto, which just opened in February 2026 and is where Pokémon Trainers can embark on explore a forest and town filled with more than 600 Pokémon!
